Lani rescues Tank, who recovers on the shore. Tank soon ends up wiping out in The Boneyards. Tank decided to attack Joe, but Cody rescued Joe by intercepting Tank. This put Tank in last place behind Cody and Joe, who both scored enough points to almost guarantee that one of them would win. When the Surf Off began, Tank underestimated Cody and attempted to knock him off his board, only for Tank himself to wipe out. Shortly before the 10th Big Z Memorial Surf Off, Cody challenged Tank to a surfing duel. Following this, a surfing contest called "The Big Z Memorial Surf Off" started and was won by Tank nine times. Tired and knowing that he couldn't compete against Tank, Big Z faked a disappearance. During the surf off, Tank wiped Big Z out. He competed against the famous surfer, Big Z, during a surfing contest on Pen Gu Island. It is implied that his mother taught him how to surf while he was still an egg, which explains why he is so experienced at the sport. Tank is also implied to be a momma's boy since he still lives with his mother and is occasionally bossed around by her. Tank is obsessed with his trophies, acting as if they were his girlfriends. He intentionally and sadistically attacks other surfers, even children, by destroying their boards or causing them to wipe out. Tank is exceedingly vain and confident in his abilities, believing himself to be better than everyone else, not only while surfing but also in general. Tanks left eye is blue, while his right is amber. He also displays noticeable Heterochromia iridum, differently-colored eyes. Tank is noticeably the largest and most muscular penguin in the original film. They fear outsiders, and do not take part in the sport of surfing like most penguins do.Tank appears to be tattooed on his body, with waves on the sides of his body and a sun under his neck. The Pen-guins have been isolated for so long on their remote island, that they have had very little exposure to modern technology and customs. There is no cultural difference between the four tribes other than location on the island. The history of the Pen-guins remains largely a mystery, as they don’t often write down or keep records of their past. The Oghasha tribe pick 3 young Pen-guins to train in the art of Fire-Twirling, a ceremonial show for entertaining the guests at the feast. They both claim to own the land of the eastern region, and have had vicious battles for the extremely fertile and arable land there.ĭespite their conflict, all four tribes come together in the sacrificial ceremonies to celebrate the grace of the Volcano Gods and have a grand feast, complete with music, dancing, and watching the famous Fire-Twirlers. Tribal conflict is mostly peaceful, other than the Shuk-ru and Chuk-hak tribes of the eastern regions of Pen Gu island. To appease the gods, the Pen-guins hold a ceremony, where they burn a captured outsider in boiling water, making the victim into a meal in which the tribe then consumes. Their prophecy is that if they do not appease the Volcano Gods, their mountain will erupt and destroy their island. Pen-guins worship the Volcano Gods, El-dir, God of Creation, and Zoh-ena, Goddess of Life. Male Pen-guins feature an X shaped symbol on their chests, while Female Pen-guins feature the female circle and cross symbol. Male and Female Pen-guins are differentiated with markings specifying them. Pen-Guins are a slightly different breed of Penguin, taking on a shorter stature than that of others, usually 2 feet tall.
